If achieving beautiful hair is something that has been on your to-do list for far too long, then you have found the right article. The issues that affect hair condition and quality will be addressed, and you may be surprised at how simply you can get that long sought after gorgeous hair!

When you are attending to the shampooing and conditioning of your hair, make sure that you thoroughly rinse off all product after it has been applied and that none remains on your hair follicles. Product that is left to build up on your hair can lead to lifeless and dull locks.

If your conditioner doesn’t keep your hair as soft as it should, consider using a leave-in conditioner as well. A good leave-in conditioner can be applied right out of the shower, and will give your hair the moisture it craves. You may also want to try a deep conditioning treatment.

Don’t use your bristle hairbrush on wet hair. Always use a comb or pick on your beautiful wet tresses. A hairbrush encourages breakage and split ends. Just lightly towel dry your hair and remove tangles by gently combing through your hair with a wide-toothed comb, or even your fingers. Allow to air dry whenever possible to minimize heat damage.

When you are using a blow dryer on your hair you should move it around as much as possible and avoid having it blowing on one area of your head for too long of a time. This will minimize the likelihood that your hair will have heat damage.

When your hair is wet, it is in a state where the most damage can be caused to it. This is why you should avoid combing or brushing your hair when it is wet. You should dry your hair thoroughly and then, comb or brush it to smooth it down.

Protect your curls with a satin pillowcase as opposed to a regular cotton one. Regular cotton pillowcases can cause your hair to dry out by leaching it of oils and moisture. Satin pillowcases protect your hair and allows you to wake with beautiful curls. You can get the same effect by wearing a scarf or bonnet of satin to bed, too.

Always leave 48 hours before your first shampoo after a color treatment on your hair. Your hair’s cuticle needs time to relax and re-seal after being subjected to chemical treatments; this keeps the color locked in longer. Even getting your hair wet can re-open the cuticle in those first few days. By waiting a mere 48 hours you will have beautiful healthy hair.

Limiting yourself to one type of shampoo or conditioning products, is not always in your best interest. If you switch the brand every now and then, you will see your hair react positively. Your scalp can benefit by having one type of shampoo counteract the buildup effects of a previous one.

Don’t use bleach on your hair. While bleach can give you great sun-kissed highlights, it also wreaks havoc with your hair structure and makes it dry and brittle. When your hair is dry and brittle, it will break easily and will be difficult to brush. Even the most expensive hair conditioners can’t revive bleach damaged hair.

Do not brush or comb your hair while it is wet. Hair is very fragile when it is wet, and it is important to make sure you wait until your hair is, at least, mostly dry before you comb or brush it. The brush you use should also have soft bristles.

After reading this article, beautiful hair should finally be within your reach! Try implementing the tips you have read here for greater control, condition and style. Keeping hair healthy and beautiful requires some attention and commitment, but as you will soon discover, it is all well worth the effort!
