Are you frustrated with the state of your hair? Have you tried all the gimmicks, serums and oils on the market in your quest for manageable hair? Don’t stress out over your hair so much and continue on! For practical guidelines that make hair care a breeze, read on!

In order to prevent hair damage, try not to brush it when it is still wet. When your hair is wet, it is a lot more fragile and more likely to break. To limit damage and maintain the health of your hair, hold off brushing until it is dry.

Heavy conditioners should never be used on hair that is fine or thinning. The heaviness caused by styling products can make your hair look thinner and less attractive. Use lighter products like leave-in conditioners that won’t cause your hair to look greasy.

Whenever possible, avoid using heated styling tools; this makes it easier to restore and fortify your hair. Blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons all do damage to your hair. Make an effort to allow your hair to rest from the heat on a regular basis.

Stay away from using a blow dryer when drying hair. Styling your hair with heat is damaging and it can cause hair to be frizzy. Keep your hair up in a towel as long as you can, to absorb the maximum amount of moisture. This lets your hair dry in a natural way and keeps the frizz at bay.

Do not ever tug or rub your hair with the towel when you are drying it. This causes frizz and stretches the strands, potentially causing them to break. Patting or blotting your hair will allow you to dry your hair without damage. Unless you are using a very wide-toothed comb, wait to brush or comb until your hair is dry.

Avoid hair care products which have alcohol in them because alcohol is a drying agent. Dry hair breaks easier, making you more prone to hair loss so be aware of the product you are using. Read labels, and be certain the products you buy will benefit your hair.

Avoid exposing your hair to the frigid weather during the cold fall and winter months. Cold weather dries hair and depletes it of essential oils and nutrients. If you have to stay out in the cold for a while, ensure you are bundled.

Stay away from being too brand loyal on shampoos and conditioners. By switching up your hairdressing products, you might find your hair reacts more positively. Switching brands may also get it of buildup caused by other brands, leaving your hair healthier.

It is time to give your bad hair days a rest. Great looking hair is a great feat. As this article has shown, this can be achieved. Use the tips in this article to properly care for and manage your hair.
